WORKSHOP:

Mask Making

Explore the wonders of the traditional art form of mask making by exploring the use of masks in different cultures.

Choose a theme for your school project focussing on cultural masks or mood masks exploring facial expressions and feelings. Mask making is introduced through the use of imagery and music which will enthuse and inspire.

Participants will make self portraits developing their observational skills and will consider the relationship between features to create their mask. Exaggerated features and colour are used to express the mood of each character.

This workshop can be easily adapted to suit younger participants and can be extended to an Artist in Residence program.

Teacher notes are provided.

Duration: 1 - 2 day workshop

Level: All

Cost: Prices vary according to the number of students, materials and length. Please call Sally to discuss on 02 4782 9489
